May Berlin. A COLLABORATION with schimmel.

This is a very nice and somewhat rare May of Berlin piano that was designed in collaboration with the renowned builder Schimmel. These pianos were built to spec by May using German spruce soundboards, German Able hammers, and strings made by the German company Röslau. After their production by May, they were then sent to the Schimmel factory for their final fine prep, regulation, and voicing.

We acquired this piano from its original owner who purchased it here in Seattle. In our initial talks they conveyed that the piano was near perfect, which is something we hear often, and rarely true. This one in fact was in amazing condition.

We have disassembled the cabinet and performed a intensive detail of the interior of the piano, and now need to regulate the action and buff the cabinet to like new condition (which thankfully won’t take much).
